Balwin Properties Izinga Eco-Estate Umhlanga From Nov
Anyone eyeing a move to the KwaZulu-Natal coast now has firm dates to work with: Balwin Properties has released estimated occupation timelines for the apartments still available at Izinga Eco-Estate in Umhlanga, and the first of them are scheduled to be handed over at the close of November 2026. The announcement lets prospective buyers match their own timing to a specific part of the estate. Coming as spring hits its stride and the December break draws near, it lands at a useful moment for anyone aiming to be settled in Umhlanga by the opening of 2027.
You will find Izinga Eco-Estate on the corner of Wager Avenue and Herrwood Drive in Izinga Ridge, uMhlanga. The development comes in two versions: the Signature Collection, finished to a higher specification, and the Classic Collection, which is Balwin's standard apartment product. The two share one address, a single show house team and the same planned Lifestyle Centre, yet they part ways on pricing, finishes and when buyers can move in.
Signature Collection: handover from November 2026
Buyers in Izinga's Signature Collection can choose from two- and three-bedroom apartments in Umhlanga. The two-bedroom homes measure roughly 98m² and start at R2 349 900, while the three-bedroom homes of about 139m² to 140m² begin at R3 099 900. As things stand, Balwin's price list records three two-bedroom and seven three-bedroom apartments remaining in this collection.
Occupation for those homes is estimated at either 30 November 2026 or 28 February 2027. A number of the three-bedroom apartments are being offered at a special price of R2 944 905, and the estate is promoting savings that reach as high as R155 000. There is no longer a one-bedroom Signature option, as it has sold out.
Each Signature apartment is equipped with SMEG appliances, covering an oven and hob with extractor, a refrigerator, a washer dryer combo and a dishwasher, plus a Samsung WindFree 18 000 BTU air conditioner. The units are ready for fibre and DStv, set up for Wi-Fi and come with prepaid electricity meters.
Classic Collection: occupation in mid to late 2027
Pricing starts lower in Izinga's Classic Collection, where one-bedroom apartments open at R1 599 900 and three-bedroom apartments at R2 599 900. The ground floor three-bedroom homes include private gardens, whereas the one- and two-bedroom homes feature balconies. The two-bedroom units here are now sold out, and the latest price list lists three-bedroom apartments with estimated occupation falling on either 30 June 2027 or 31 August 2027.
Classic homes carry Defy appliances, among them an oven and hob with extractor, a refrigerator, a washer dryer combo and a dishwasher, and they come fibre ready. If moving in this year is not a priority, the Classic Collection is a way into the very same estate at a softer price, with a longer wait before keys change hands.
The Lifestyle Centre under construction
Work is already under way on the Izinga Lifestyle Centre, a shared amenity for residents of both collections. Plans for it take in a gym, indoor padel courts, a wellness spa, a restaurant, a meeting and function room, a laundromat, a children's play area and a cinema room. On top of that, a standalone swimming pool and a dog park are already in place at the estate.

Balwin places Atholton Primary School at 1.7km, Reddam House Umhlanga at 2.4km and Crawford International at 5.8km. On the healthcare side, Busamed Gateway Private Hospital is 3.1km off and Netcare Umhlanga Hospital and Medical Centre 3.9km off.
When it comes to retail, Oceans Mall sits 3.2km away, The Pearls Mall 3.4km, Cornubia Mall 4.3km and Gateway Theatre of Shopping 4.5km. The uMhlanga Lagoon Nature Reserve and lagoon trail are 2.3km from the estate, uMhlanga Main Beach and Promenade is 3.2km out, and Padelnation uMhlanga along with the uMhlanga Ski Boat Club each sit roughly 2.2km away.
